 |  I bought a 4x4 Toyota Hilux some time ago but never got to using it off road. I heard all about the trails that many people go to and attended a 4x4 Challange outside Durbanville. This wet my appetite to now try my 4x4 offroad.After some enquiries I was told to contact Dave from Offtrac. He was very helpful and together with 2 of my other friend put together an outing for the day to Somerset West to do the 2 Oceans trail. Once we signed in at the office completing the Indemnity we were free to go and set off with two other vehicles. As a first timer Dave helped me through every obstacle. Some of the hard ones I got though, but Dave had to drive up my 4x4 on at least one occasion after having the tight knuckle and dry mouth syndrome. Lunch was fantastic, Dave really knows how to cook “Nyama” – rare thick steak. I learnt so much on that day and Dave really built up my confidence. | Dave's the man if you want a great outing for a day or a week, he cooks, washes(himself too),guides,makes fire, entertains, tells a good camp fire yarn and makes great coffee, your general jack of all trades but a master of only one - organising fantastic trip. We have been on several trips with Off Trac and have enjoyed everyone, keep it up Dave and dont forget to tell them about the night the lions came. | Dave led the best 4x4 adventure I have ever been on. His ability to navigate safely is impressive as well as his equally impressive knowledge about the land. Camping was fabulous and the food incredible. My next trip to Cape Town will definitely include another adventure with Dave’s group. | Not having camped since being a girl guide 40 years ago it was with great trepidation that I set off for a week-end with the 4X4 fraternity.I was pleasantly surprised and must admit that I enjoyed every minute of the experience.The ablution block was spotless and there was hot water in the bath and one of the showers...that was bliss! The meals were excellent and Dave was very informative.I had never realised the multitude of stars in the sky and Dave was able to point out plenty of them. Swimming in the rock pools was so refreshing and so much fun. All in all it was an amazing experience and I am definitely looking forward to sleeping under the stars again in the not too distant future!
