WHAT'S ON THIS MONTH - September - Flowers
2 Sept - 4 Sept - Flower Tour Fantastic, Awesome, Spectacular We drove up to Clanwilliam attended the flower show. Drove on to Van Rhynsdorp and stayed over at a B&B called Talk of the Town. Which it certainly was. The weather for the first day Friday was cold 9 degrees and overcast so there weren't many flowers. Saturday we left after breakfast wan motored on towards Lorriesfontein and went to see the Waterfall just outside Niewoudtville and the on to the Quiver Tree Forest. By this time the weather was warm at 17 degrees and sunny and the flowers were spectacular. We went back to Niewoudtville to visit the Nature Reserve there that was stunning and from there to the R364 through the Bideouw Valley where the best flowers were seen along the gravel road and then back to Clanwilliam and home a round trip for two days. Fantastic and enjoyed by all. Flower InfoFLOWER TRIPS - Although September month is the month where fields are already blooming with the first blossoms of spring. This year although we have had good seasonal rains. the days have been cold. Thus this season will have less flowers germinating, till about October / November when the bulbs will be shooting. But it is still beautiful out there and is worth the trip do give me a call........ and find out more. There is truly a season for everything.. REMEMBER: Bring a spray or roll-on TABBARD, PEACEFUL SLEEP or BUGZ OFF as the miggies are hectic and you are likely to get a mouth or nose full. Good flat shoes or takkies (running shoes) are great. Bring a water bottle or 2 litre of spring water it gets hot out there. Bring a hat and suntan lotion with your camera, a cellphone camera is not up to it if you want to remember & capture the moment.
